Summertime at Rainbow Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. Rainbow Lake is right by the Homestead Trail, and if you came for an overnight stay Smoke Rise Resport and Campgrounds is a great site                  to camp. Take a hike on the Indian Mound Trail, and the scenery at Rainbow Lake Dam is delightful. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Elm Golf Course is always a diversion; Indian Mound Campground is a fine campground nearby.
