If you came for an overnight stay Wild Bill's Resort is a wonderful location to camp, and a nice nearby hotel is Hanover House Bed and Breakfast. Licking River is a pleasant whitewater spot near Porter Lake, and you don’t have to go far from Porter Lake to make out the water at Porter Lake Dam. Porter Lake is a good spot of normal rain; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month       of the year is February. After a long day outdoors Zanesville Super 8 Motel is a delightful place to spend a night or two, and you'll stumble on a picturesque lake called Diehr Lake. During the summer highs here at Porter Lake get into the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. For the period of the winter the highs are usually in the 30's; overnight lows during the winter for Porter Lake tend to be in the                  10's. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Porter Lake, you could also go to delightful Dillon Lake, and enjoy a round of golf at Crystal Springs Golf Club. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Porter Lake.
