Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mirror Lake; Hawthorn Loop Trail is a fine local trail, and not far from Mirror Lake you acquire some magnificent water scenery at Fifth Avenue Low Head Dam. Since you're here at Mirror Lake why not take a look at Glen Echo Hollow, as expected you could also visit Rich Street Low Head Reservoir while you're here;

you like swamps you're in luck, Buckeye Swamp is right nearby. A nice location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Mirror Lake is Olentangy River, and an afternoon playing golf at Safari Golf Club is always a pleasure.
Summertime highs at Mirror Lake commonly tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are frequently in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while Mirror Lake night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's.
The Sassafras Horse Trail offers hiking at its best, and you can run the rapids of Scioto River. You're sure to bump into some good people from Columbus here. There's so much to do here at Mirror Lake that you need to camp here for
