It was a great place 25 years ago and has gotten better every year. There are so many things to do for kids as well as adults. The camp store is well stocked and prices are very reasonable. Security is a high priority and 24/7. We love it here and recomend highly. Be careful coming to Longs Retreat Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. During the months of summer at Longs Retreat Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Longs Retreat Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A quick journey to       Little Sunfish Creek in the vicinity of Longs Retreat Lake is a great idea, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Longs Retreat Lake; Fort Trail is a perfect local trail. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Seaman is a tremendous choice, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Paint Creek. A good deal of rain falls at Longs Retreat Lake; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is February. The scenery                  at Longs Retreat Dam near Longs Retreat Lake is picturesque, and beautiful scenery and great skiing is what you get at Spicy Run Mountain. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bench Trail; Bell Hollow is another delightful location to go to nearby. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Longs Retreat Lake. Humphrey Hill is pretty and can be made out from Longs Retreat Lake; you're almost certainly addicted to lakes, Hickory Hills Lake is one of those nearby. A delightful nearby hotel is Hillsboro Days Inn, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Rocky Fork Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Longs Retreat Lake is right by the Wildwood Trail. There's so much to do here at Longs Retreat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, L B Camping is a good spot for that. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cave Lake is next to Longs Retreat Lake.
