It was a great place 25 years ago and has gotten better every year. There are so many things to do for kids as well as adults. The camp store is well stocked and prices are very reasonable. Security is a high priority and 24/7. We love it here and recomend highly. Humphrey Hill is a peak you can see from Longs Retreat Lake, and Longs Retreat Dam is a location that is near Longs Retreat Lake. A perfect place to camp here at Longs Retreat Lake is L B Camping; since you're here you can take a hike along the Wildwood Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Rocky Fork Creek near Longs Retreat Lake, and dry warm beds await you at Hillsboro Days Inn.       Hiking along the Fort Trail is delightful fun, and pleasant skiing awaits you at Spicy Run Mountain. The high level of precipitation makes Longs Retreat Lake a rather wet site; May is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Longs Retreat Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Long's Retreat and Campground is a magnificent local campground; close by Bell Hollow is a great site to go.                  Man, is there loads of amusing stuff to do near Longs Retreat Lake. Going for a hike along the Bench Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood; there's whitewater on Paint Creek for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Seaman is a delightful location to spend a night or two, and a quick tour to Little Sunfish Creek is beyond doubt a wonderful idea. Through the warm days of summer here at Longs Retreat Lake, high temperatures usually reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 60's.
