Wildwood Lake is a nearby                  lake that you could pop by; hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Placid; Vondergreen Trail is a splendid local trail. Lake Placid Dam is lovely and it's close to Lake Placid, and paddling on Little Beaver Creek is so much fun. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a pleasant time here at Lake Placid.
