Kokosing River
I Have been paddling the Kokosing for 15 years and have lived in the area all my life.  I have started in Millwood and landed at Zuck in 7 minutes. Water level was at 13ft mark on bridge at Millwood. I have also canoed across the field at riley chapel clear up to 715 to take our boat out.   My ex-husband and I spent every weekend on the river.  I have photos in February at the cave falls off hazel dell rd. also would like to know where the name grove falls came from? The kokosing changes every year, my father worked at the sand plant for 35 years it used to be white sand bottom and full of snakes.  There is a lot of history to the area, we also made it a yearly event to go down the river on new years day to ring in the new year.  I have been to Kentucky on the elk horn creek, class 5 white water, they knew of the Kokosing river....

... county Ohio!! Apple Valley is only 1 hour northeast of Columbus or 1 1/2 hours south of Akron. Apple Valley is a gorgeous 511 acre private lake. Our community has 3 beaches, 2 club houses, indoor pool, outdoor pool, tennis courts, fitness room & public golf course. Our lake averages 30ft in depth. Most of the lakes in this area average only 5-10ft! Our lake was man made for recreational use! It was made for you and I, not for flood control or for water use. We are dam contolled and stay full throughout the summer. We also have a full service marina with gas pumps!! Some lakes do not have a gas pumps and you have to haul your own gas!! We have all public utilities. This lake is absolutly beautiful!

Knox county is a beautiful rural area! Gorgeous rolling hills and farms. Apple Valley lake and community sits in the middle of it all. Within 6 miles is the little town of Mt Vernon. A very cute and historical area. Fun little shops in the downtown area complete with book stores, crafts and ''Sips'' coffee shop. The newer downtown has a Walmart, Penny's, KMart, Peebles, Movie theate...
