Lake Lucern is always a pleasure to visit. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites AKRON SOUTH (AIRPORT AREA), and you'll stumble on a beautiful lake called Luna Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Lake Lucern. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Lucern temperatures dip to the 10's. Why not camp at Clays Park Resort

This lake is so wonderful. Lake Lucern is close to Lake Lucern Dam which is a scenic place unquestionably worth going to, and there's whitewater on Cuyahoga River for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. The slopes of Brandywine are so inviting noone can resist, and if you came for an overnight stay Landing is a pleasant
place to camp. Lake Lucern gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; January is when it's the driest. Hit the beach if you want, Turkeyfoot Beach is practically right here, and
do pay a visit to Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area if you're here at Lake Lucern.
You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the area in the vicinity of Lake Lucern has to offer. A golf course close to Lake
Lucern is Chippewa Golf Club, and do check out Clays Park Lake, it's a stunning lake. And that's not all you can do here at Lake Lucern.

This lake is a natural lake made up of many springs. From the many arrow heads found around the lake there is no doubt that it was home to indiginous tribes at one time or another. In the early part of the 20th century it was a summer retreat for some people. In the late 60's early 70's it was a great venue for local bands to play and a summer park with swimming etc. as well.... |

the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated.... |

Do you need permission to have a picnic in the park called Memory Park?...We stayed at Evergreen RV Park in Mt. Eaton. It is a new park and absolutely beautiful. Everything is state of the art -- even an indoor pool with a cover that opens by a sensor. Every site is landscaped with a fence, bushes and flowers. The people are very friendly. It has the nicest restrooms (and largest) that I have ever seen. I certainly will go back again.... |

The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way.... |

Virginia Kendall Park Lake

The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area.
Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.)
If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride.... |
