Go to Lake Louise if you want to go to a nice lake. There are some nice whitewater spots on Banklick Creek, and Fourmile Lake is a tremendous lake close by. Camping at Miami Trails Hoa is always a wonderful experience; Five Mile Bar is a perfect place to stop by. For the period of the summer at Lake Louise temperatures are generally in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures

Lake Louise gets a typical amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Lake Louise in fact is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise. If you come at the right time of year, Little Miami River offers some perfect whitewater; Lake Louise Dam is delightful. Erlanger is a great choice, and an afternoon playing golf at California Golf Course is always a diversion. You'll meet a lot of people from Cincinnati-Middletown here, and why not go to nearby Duck Creek if you're here at Lake Louise.

Horner Run
 | 12 miles away Horner is a great run with 3 major drops from 6 feet to 10-11 feet, the only problem is the take out. First you could carry the mile and a half out a trail on river left, or go under interstate 275 through a 100 yard long tunnel scout the tunnel first for strainers, third you could walk several hundred yards up to 275 and get out on the interstate shoulder. With all this in mind you might as well say forget Horner and head for Halls creek or Hershel run. Both have way easier put-in's and take out's... |
