What a nice lake Lake Louise is. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Chagrin River - Aurora Branch, and Aurora Inn Of Mario S International is a glorious site to get some rest. Don't leave Lake Louise without first going for a hike along the Mohawk Trail; if you have the time, Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area is a national park worth taking a look at. During the warm days of summer at Lake Louise highs are typically in the 80's; the nighttime

| | is a bit colder of course, frequently in the 60's. All through the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Louise. For you golfers we recommend nearby Berkshire Hills Golf Club. There's so much to do here at Lake Louise that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Ho Mita KODA is a perfect location for that. A common amount of rain falls here at Lake Louise; most of the rain falls during September while February | |

is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The scenery at Lake Louise Dam close to Lake Louise is lovely; Brandywine is a great local ski area. What a location this is for outdoors folks. During your journey to Lake
Louise you'll meet some folks from Akron for sure, and drift down the rapids of Chagrin River - East Branch in a kayak. Lakes? Sure, Paw Paw Lake is close at hand, and the peak of McConougheys Hill can be made out from Lake Louise.
A glorious nearby hotel is Bertram Inn & Conference Center, and there are other sites here than Lake Louise, for example Bellwood Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in close proximity to Lake Louise. There's
splendid hiking along the Beach Trail, and if you came to camp Geauga Lake Campground is a great place to do that. This lake is so wonderful. There are great places to look at along the Mushers Trail, and the skiing at Alpine Valley is good.

La Due Reservoir
 | This is a relatively large lake (1500 acres) located in NE Ohio, at the intersection of state Rt 422 and Rt 44. The lake is managed by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. There are no camps or parks on the shore of the lake. The lake is part of the city of Akron water supply system. Access to the lake is limited to boating/fishing, and gasoline motors are not allowed. If you want to fish this lake, bring two trolling batteries as the lake is large. Fish to be caught include largemouth bass, crappie (white and black), channel catfish, yellow perch, bluegill, walleye and the occasional northern pike (rare, but according to the boathouse attendant, there are a few in the lake).... |

Lake Estabrook
 | 16 miles away What's left of the lake is on Rt 700, NE of Parkman, OH at Latitude: 412256N and Longitude: 0810431W. Around yr 2000, the dam at the West end of the lake broke and the lake drained. All that's left is the creek that was originally dammed to make the lake, along with the broken dam. Camp Chicagami is a Boy Scout camp located on the shore of where the lake used to be. It was about a 30 acre lake, and it's a shame that it's gone now.... |
Virginia Kendall Park Lake
 | 18 miles away The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area. Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.) If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride.... |
