Many people like to go to Lake Austin. Going for a hike on the Vondergreen Trail is always a fine adventure; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Weirton-Steubenville. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Austin is great enough to spend more than a day at, Austin Lake Campground is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is good on Little Beaver Creek. High temperatures at Lake Austin during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's,

| | and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Austin are in the 10's.
This is no site for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Near Lake Austin you find the Pine Ridge Trail which is a good hiking trail; why not visit Lake Austin Dam while you're here. A wonderful close by hotel is Steubenville Super 8 Motel; Dry Run is in the vicinity of Lake Austin and is always a delight | |

If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Steubenville,Oh is a brilliant choice. There's so much to do here at Lake Austin that you need to camp here for a while, Hollow Rock Campground is
a great site for that. An average amount of precipitation falls at Lake Austin; July is the month that gets the most rain while January is commonly the driest month. Little Beaver Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Dogwood Trail.
