Lake Elissa
WOW I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS A LAKE AFTER MY NAME TOO! All I knew about was the ship in Galveston, TX...
Boston Mills
12 miles away Boston Mills is great!!!...
Cuyahoga River
13 miles away The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way....
Virginia Kendall Park Lake
14 miles away The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area. Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.) If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride....
Mar-lynn Lake Park
| 19 miles away Mar-Lynn Lake Park is now STREETSBORO/CLEVELAND SE KOA!! Streetsboro KOA is a great place to escape the pressures of everyday life. A family friendly place to relax with your kids, we offer many ways to enjoy yourself. Sit around a crackling campfire, catch some rays on our beach or swim in our spring-fed lake.
Our campstore is an 1800's era General Stare that was moved to this location in the 1970's. We sell hand dipped ice cream and fudge that is made right on the campground property.
We are also within 6 miles of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with many miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails.
