The Mud Lick Hiking Trails offers hiking at its best, and a golf course nearby is Indian Ridge Golf Course. The amount of rain that falls at Island Pond is close to the national average; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; January on the other hand is the driest. Island Pond is right by the Blue Heron Hiking Trail; camping is available at Camp America. This       lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Island Pond; West Shore Trail is a tremendous local trail, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Great Miami River. You truly have to go for Island Pond. Perfect North has nice slopes and a friendly staff, and if you came for an overnight stay Cross's Campgrounds is a good location to camp. At Island Fishing Lakes Dam near Island Pond there are                  some interesting things to see, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sycamore Inn is a good location to spend a night or two. Curlane Run flows through this vicinity, and if you've had enough of Island Pond, Holiday Lake is nearby. At Island Pond during the warm months highs are in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Island Pond drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.
