It's always fun to stop by Indigo Lake. From a rainfall point of view Indigo Lake is a reasonably common location; during June this area sees the most rain; the driest month is January. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing things, what a great globe it would be. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Boston Mills while you're here, and Pancake Lock is a wonderful place, definitely worth going to. A lake close by is Kool Lake; dry warm
beds await you at Four Points By Sheraton Akron West.
Furnace Run is a good local stream; Riverwoods Golf Course is a glorious golf course nearby. For the period of the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 80's at Indigo Lake. Summer night lows fall down to the 60's. Through the winter highs are regularly in the 30's, and overnight lows at Indigo Lake through the wintertime usually drop into the 10's. There's so much to do here at Indigo Lake that

you need to camp here for a while, Tamsin RV Park is a fine place for that, and you're sure to stumble upon some nice folks from Akron here.
This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Yellow Creek, and Indigo Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Stow Silver Springs Park is a good local campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Cuyahoga River, and if you haven’t been to Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Saalfield Pond Number One is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and skiing at Brandywine is one of those things you just should do.
After a long day outdoors Hilton Akron/Fairlawn is a pleasant place to spend a night or two.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Cuyahoga River
The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly.  The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way....

Yellow Creek
the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated....

Boston Mills
Boston Mills is great!!!...

Virginia Kendall Park Lake
The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area.
Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.)
If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride....

Lake O'Springs
18 miles away
This lake is a natural lake made up of many springs.  From the many arrow heads found around the lake there is no doubt that it was home to indiginous tribes at one time or another.  In the early part of the 20th century it was a summer retreat for some people.  In the late 60's early 70's it was a great venue for local bands to play and a summer park with swimming etc. as well....
