| | Park if you're here at Hudson Springs Lake, and a good nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Streetsboro. Hudson Springs Lake really is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. If you need a place to stay Towneplace Suites By Marriott Streetsboro is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Hudson Springs Lake, you could stop at Pond Brook, and if you're dropping by from Akron, you won't be the only one. Drift down the rapids of Cuyahoga River in a kayak, and an afternoon playing golf at Fox Den
Golf Course is always a joy. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Brandywine; lakes are such calm spots, why not have a look at Colebrook Lake. What a place this is for outdoors people. If you come at the right time of year, Chagrin River
- Aurora Branch offers some delightful whitewater, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Mushers Trail. The slopes of Boston Mills are so inviting noone can resist, and needless to say, all our national
parks are tremendous places to pop by and Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area is no exception. Near Hudson Springs Lake you discover the Iroquois Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and there are other sites here than Hudson Springs Lake, for example Waterfall Lake.

Virginia Kendall Park Lake
 | The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area. Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.) If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride.... |
Hidden Valley Camp Ground
 | Hidden Valley is a great place to have tons of fun. I am a seasonal camper there and we are all so friendly. So come out and have some fun....Great campground. Lots of activities. La Due Reservoir
 | 16 miles away This is a relatively large lake (1500 acres) located in NE Ohio, at the intersection of state Rt 422 and Rt 44. The lake is managed by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. There are no camps or parks on the shore of the lake. The lake is part of the city of Akron water supply system. Access to the lake is limited to boating/fishing, and gasoline motors are not allowed. If you want to fish this lake, bring two trolling batteries as the lake is large. Fish to be caught include largemouth bass, crappie (white and black), channel catfish, yellow perch, bluegill, walleye and the occasional northern pike (rare, but according to the boathouse attendant, there are a few in the lake).... |
