We recently discovered Hoover Reservoir. It's a beautiful lake, though much, if not most, is inaccessible due to ''private propery''. It appears there are several new access areas however. One can drive entirely around it in less than 30 minutes. The area around the damn, and the area around the other end (the ''Big Walnut Creek'' flow into the lake is also very nice. It's sorta hard to find a quiet area as it is near Columbus. It's well worth a visit.

Hoover Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to bump into some friendly folks from Columbus here, and Hoover Dam is delightful. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in close proximity to Hoover Reservoir. There's whitewater on Olentangy River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Smith Pond is a nearby lake that you could have a look at.
The annual rain here at Hoover Reservoir is about average;

| | through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Near Hoover Reservoir you stumble on a golf course called Minerva Lake Golf Club, and the Sassafras Horse Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. Why not camp at Berkshire Campgrounds if you're here at Hoover Reservoir, and nearby you find the Five Oaks Trail which is a good hiking trail.

Camp Grounds, and after a long day outdoors Bridgestreet Corporate Housing Woods At Polaris Parkway is a nice site to spend a night or two. Summer at Hoover Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 80's. For the duration of the
moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows through the winter for Hoover Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Scioto River; dry warm beds await you at Baymont Inn & Suites Columbus Northeast.
