Buffalo Trail Camping Area is a glorious campground nearby; you can go for a hike on the Old Pine Trail. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Hammertown Lake; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. If you came for an overnight stay Lazy Dog Camp-Resort is a nice location to                  camp, and after a long day outdoors Jackson-Days Inn is a fine location to spend a night or two. Going for a hike on the Acorn Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and tremendous water scenery is available at Hammertown Lake Dam near Hammertown Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
