Do stop by Green Lake while you're in this part of Ohio. Green Lake gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; the wettest month of the year is mostly June, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is January. Bass Isle Resort And Camping is a great campground nearby. Lakes? Sure, Upper Shaker Lake is in the neighborhood.

After a long day outdoors Cleveland/North Randall Knights Inn is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Brandywine while you're here. Stay the night at Tamsin RV Park; what would winter be without some skiing at Boston Mills.

Golf Course is a great golf course nearby. Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Green Lake. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Tinker's Creek; not far from Green Lake you'll
come across Marshall Lake which is a gorgeous lake. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Green Lake reach the 80's; the overnight is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are
typically in the 30's while Green Lake night low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Econo Lodge Warrensville Heights is a great place to get some rest, and there's whitewater on Chippewa Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers.

Virginia Kendall Park Lake

The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area.
Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.)
If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride.... |

The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way.... |
