Residence Inn Akron is a glorious place to get some rest; if you came to camp Camelot Camping Grounds is a perfect location to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Brandywine; a round of golf at nearby Old Pine Golf Course is a perfect way to kill some time. Granger Lake is a location with many visitors from Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor. You could also stop by Mirror Lake since you're here at Granger Lake; it's close by, and paddling
on Rocky River - North Branch is so much fun.

Lake, too good to be true. There's so much to do here at Granger Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bonita-osage Park is a brilliant spot for that, and don't miss out on a spree to Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area if you're here.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Granger Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. The sight of Reeds Hill from Granger Lake is striking, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Inn & Suites is a great choice. Whitewater paddling is great on Yellow Creek, and Boston Mills is a good local ski area.

MORE STUFF NEARBY:

Yellow Creek
the week of july 3 has been a nasty one for yellow creek. a developer in richfield has clear cut into zoned conservation district. some of this district was even under the control of the western reserve conservation district and they were never informed. this land is within 100 feet of the northern most feeder creek to yellow creek. any help we could receive with this matter would be appreciated....

Cuyahoga River
The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly.  The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way....

Boston Mills
10 miles away
Boston Mills is great!!!...

Brandywine
10 miles away
My grandparents live right by Brandywine so I get to go snowboarding every time we visit them in the winter....

Summit Lake
11 miles away
You would be crazy to swim in that lake.  The place is very polluted. This 'hood isn't exactly a vacation area. ...Summit Lake is an old man-made reservoir for the ohio/erie and ohio/pennsylvania canal systems in the area. There used to be an amusement park with beach/swimming area on the east side of the lake many years ago. Plenty of swimming spots just a mile or so south at Portage Lakes....Summit lake is an inner city lake that has no swimming.  there is fishing but fish from the lake are not safe to eat, there have been 3 alligators caught there in recent years (seriously) The area is known to be quite dangerous after dark.  There are some lovely  areas just south of the city that are much safer.  Summit Lake....not so much...

Virginia Kendall Park Lake
11 miles away
The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area.
Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.)
If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride....
