This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Old Pine Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Jackson-Days Inn. Good hiking is available along the The Gulf Trail, and Gallahan Pond Dam is a pretty site, positively worth taking a look at. From a rain point of view Gallahan Pond is a quite typical spot; during August this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is       February. There are great places to discover along the Acorn Trail; Gallahan Pond is a good site to camp, Buffalo Trail Camping Area is a good site.
