Around yr 2000, the dam at the West end of the lake broke and the lake drained. All that's left is the creek that was originally dammed to make the lake, along with the broken dam. Camp Chicagami is a Boy Scout camp located on the shore of where the lake used to be. It was about a 30 acre lake, and it's a shame that it's gone now. If you came to camp Kool Lakes Campground is a delightful site to do that, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Beaver Run Trail. So much cool stuff to do here at Lake Estabrook, too splendid to be true. A glorious nearby hotel is Econo Lodge Newton Falls, and Lake Estabrook is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Papa Joe's Family Campground is a magnificent local campground. Lake Estabrook       is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is June; February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. At Shangri-La Ski Club Dam near Lake Estabrook there are some attention-grabbing things to see; the Beech Ridge Trail is a good hiking trail close by. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Grand River, and going for a hike along the Clubmoss Trail will let you absorb the                  natural beauty of this neighborhood. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express Lordstown/Newton Falls(Warren is a delightful choice. For the period of the summer at Lake Estabrook temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Lake Estabrook.
