The 1.5-mile-in-distance Elmwood Road to East Fork of Little Miami River sector is glorious to kayak. This part of Backbone Creek is splendid for those with a good deal of whitewater knowledge. On nearby Hershel Run you encounter a category III-IV section of whitewater; the Belfast Road to Stonelick Creek segment is 1.35 miles long. This     segment of Hershel Run is a mid difficulty section for whitewater kayaking or rafting.
