     Dever Pond is always a pleasure to visit. Summertime highs at Dever Pond usually tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are regularly in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Dever Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous close by hotel is Comfort Inn Harrison, and since you're here you can take a hike along the West Shore Trail. Glide down the rapids of Great Miami River in a kayak;  
   Dever Pond Dam is a site that is right next door to Dever Pond.
If you came to camp Indian Springs Campground is a wonderful spot to do that, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Blue Jacket Trail. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Dever Pond; May is when you get the most rain here while January is frequently the driest month. Take a hike on the Little Turtle Trail, and the skiing at Perfect North is nice.
If only every location
 
               had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great planet it would be. If you come at the right time of year, Gunpowder Creek offers some nice whitewater, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Miami Whitewater Forest Lake. Dever Pond is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Higher Ground Camping Center is a tremendous local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Dever Pond, you'll find Camp Ross Trails Lake which is a beautiful lake, and Quality Inn Harrison is a tremendous place to get some rest.
Near Dever Pond you locate a golf course called Circling Hills Golf Course, and there are plenty of folks from Cincinnati-Middletown here at Dever Pond.

Great Miami River
Having paddled the 70 miles of the Great Miami, the WW is great for beginners or rec paddlers wanting to have a little excitement added to their trip.  Water Quality is good, in fact it can be better then the Little Miami during low water.  Best time to hit the GM is when it is running between 2500cfs and 3800cfs (Hamilton USGS gage if your looking for some WW.  There isn't too many places in the summer in the Midwest you can find good water and waves, but the Great Miami still flows well in August....50 hole is not much of a surf and it is a porta john.......

wow thats crazy......e creek we started to paddle for the bank when we got up to the bank i push to get us on the bank and my paddle broke in half in my hand. so here we are about a mile down creek with one paddle.so much for old wooded paddles we packed the canoe around the tree and put back in well needless to say its hard to steer a canoe with one paddle . we met the first tree limb that was hanging over it knock our butts out of the boat .were going down the creek with the canoe upside down . there is no getting your footing . we finally got to a calm spot i guess a deep pool were we could get to the bank flip the canoe upright and proceed again it wasnt very long til the same type of deal happend again this time leaving the canoe pinned against a tree. the water was rushing in were you could not free it. finally tin worked it free the canoe spun out in the creek he had a hold on the rope that was tied to the front. well the rope broke there goes the canoe and we are not in it. tim swims after it like tarzan and catches it .we got it turn upright and notice that the canoe has a hole about the siz...
