Cutler Lake is a lake worth visiting. Ohio Power Company Pond Mbl-1 is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and why not pop by Blue Rock Lake Dam since you're here. Summertime highs at Cutler Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; nighttime lows at Cutler Lake during the winter regularly descend into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Take some time to check

| | out Blue Rock State Forest while you're here, and going for a hike on the Wild Cat Hollow Hiking Trail is always a great adventure.
Best Western B. R. Guest is a tremendous spot to get some rest; while you're here, you could also take a look at pretty Blue Rock Lake. You just have to like Cutler Lake. Camping is available at Walkabout Creek Horseman's Camp and Campground, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Creek Side Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful.

A great place to camp here at Cutler Lake is Blue Rock State Park, and a great place to go to close by is Coal Hollow. After a long day outdoors Ramada Zanesville is a glorious place to spend a night or two, and if you come at the
right time of year, Licking River offers some good whitewater. The amount of precipitation that falls at Cutler Lake is close to the national average; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

This lake has been public fishing since it opened, long before I was born. Apparently now the surrounding landowner has taken over the only road to the lake. I'm not sure exactly how this happened, as it's illegal to landlock a property that's already had a right of way granted, and also illegal to raise livestock on government property. I'll find out what the local government has to say about it, and write back.

Wild Cat Hollow Hiking Trail

This trail was in a sad state. The lower loop was not bad but the upper loop was sooo damaged by falled trees. It was sad to behold. I began to dread seeing a pine plantation in the distance because I knew I would be scrabling off the path. This was my first time on the trail and I feel bad because I bet she was beautiful before all the damage....I like to start early and eat up up the whole trail in a day. It is a great two day trail, but is a good hard day used as a day trial. It is easy to follow and well thought out.... |
