You can run the rapids of Cuyahoga River right next door to Collins Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Collins Pond you'll probably meet some people from Akron, and a golf course nearby is Windmill Lakes Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Kent Super 8 Motel is a pleasant location to get some rest, and you'll hit upon a picturesque lake called Crystal Lake. Through the summer months at Collins Pond temperatures       are frequently in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Collins Pond dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Tucaway Lake Campground is a wonderful campground nearby; don't leave Collins Pond without first going for a hike along the Beaver Run Trail. Do stop at Little Mussy Lake near Collins Pond, it's a scenic lake; good hiking is available along the Clubmoss Trail. Why not stop at                  Ohio Farmettes Lake Dam since you're here, and there are nice spots to explore along the Beech Ridge Trail. The annual rainfall here at Collins Pond is about average; most of the rain falls all through July, and January on the other hand is the driest. After a long day outdoors Akron - Days Inn Kent is a splendid spot to spend a night or two, and Hidden Valley Camp Ground is a perfect local campground. That right there is lots already, but it goes on; Collins Pond has it all.
