This lake is so wonderful. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Chitwood Pond called the Lakeview Trail, and a lake nearby is Rippe Pond. Stay the night at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp, and going for a hike on the Southwoods Trail is always a tremendous adventure. From a precipitation point of view Chitwood Pond is a rather common location; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January       on the other hand is the driest. If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hall's Creek, and Chitwood Pond Dam is a charming place, unquestionably worth going to. High temperatures at Chitwood Pond throughout the summer months are in the 80's, and the night is slightly chillier of course, usually in the 60's.
