La Due Reservoir
This is a relatively large lake (1500 acres) located in NE Ohio, at the intersection of state Rt 422 and Rt 44. The lake is managed by the Ohio Division of Wildlife. There are no camps or parks on the shore of the lake. The lake is part of the city of Akron water supply system. Access to the lake is limited to boating/fishing, and gasoline motors are not allowed. If you want to fish this lake, bring two trolling batteries as the lake is large. Fish to be caught include largemouth bass, crappie (white and black), channel catfish, yellow perch, bluegill, walleye and the occasional northern pike (rare, but according to the boathouse attendant, there are a few in the lake)....
Hidden Valley Camp Ground
Hidden Valley is a great place to have tons of fun. I am a seasonal camper there and we are all so friendly. So come out and have some fun....Great campground. Lots of activities. We were treated like family by the guests as well as the owners and staff. Perfect if you have kids. Book early, though, because it tends to fill up quickly....
Mar-lynn Lake Park
| Mar-Lynn Lake Park is now STREETSBORO/CLEVELAND SE KOA!! Streetsboro KOA is a great place to escape the pressures of everyday life. A family friendly place to relax with your kids, we offer many ways to enjoy yourself. Sit around a crackling campfire, catch some rays on our beach or swim in our spring-fed lake.
Our campstore is an 1800's era General Stare that was moved to this location in the 1970's. We sell hand dipped ice cream and fudge that is made right on the campground property.
We are also within 6 miles of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park with many miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails.

Lake Estabrook
15 miles away What's left of the lake is on Rt 700, NE of Parkman, OH at Latitude: 412256N and Longitude: 0810431W. Around yr 2000, the dam at the West end of the lake broke and the lake drained. All that's left is the creek that was originally dammed to make the lake, along with the broken dam. Camp Chicagami is a Boy Scout camp located on the shore of where the lake used to be. It was about a 30 acre lake, and it's a shame that it's gone now....

Virginia Kendall Park Lake
17 miles away The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area. Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.) If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride....
