A wonderful nearby hotel is Wright Patterson Hotel, and going for a hike on the Arboretum Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Spring Valley Frontier Campground is a nice location for that. The amount of rain that falls at Bass Lake is close to the national average; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January. Get yourself
into a kayak and hit Little Miami River, and don't leave Bass Lake without first going for a hike along the Orton Memorial Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Mad River, and you can go for a hike on the South
Gorge Trail. For the period of the summer months at Bass Lake highs are mostly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are mostly in the 30's; overnight lows at Bass Lake through the winter usually dip into the 10's.

I work as a river guide in Tennessee and West Virgina, and Caesar's a pretty run lots of history with the shawnee....This can be run only when the USGS gauge is 7' or more, or when the ouflow from the dam is about 400 cfs....there are wave trains of approximately 2 feet in height. it is overall just a fun long set rapids for 3 miles... |
