Baldwin Reservoir is a lake worth visiting. Intercontinental Hotel & Conference Center Cleveland is a delightful location to get some rest, and delightful skiing awaits you at Brandywine. Stay the night at Tamsin RV Park, and Wade Lagoon is a fine lake nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Boston Mills is one of those things you just should do; there are plenty of folks from Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor here.

| | Area is worthwhile, and get drenched paddling on Chippewa Creek. Just can't get enough of Baldwin Reservoir. Lakes? Sure, Fairmount Reservoir is close by, and dry warm beds await you at Cleveland Clinic Guesthouse. Fairmount Upground Reservoir Dam is a spot that is close to Baldwin Reservoir; paddling on Tinker's Creek is so much fun.

of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Euclid City Briardale Golf Course not far from Baldwin Reservoir, and Bass Isle Resort And Camping is a good campground nearby.

days highs here at Baldwin Reservoir get into the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the winter the highs are typically in the 30's with temperatures at Baldwin Reservoir dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.

The sewage treatment plant just up river of the put-in location can make paddling after a big rain a little smelly. The park doesn't recommend any paddling on the river, and if you are going you should check their website for construction on the bridges along the way.... |
Virginia Kendall Park Lake

The dam was washed out in 2007, and is under repair. In the meantime it is very neat to be able to see the bottom of the lake. When I was a kid there used to be wooden toggonan runs that shot the tobbogans out onto the frozen lake at the end. The nearby Virginia Hills are still a great place for sledding, one of the best in the area.
Tamsin Park has been replaced by a housing subdivision. However, not far from Virginia Kendall in Boston is a American Youth Hostel, and there are several bed and breakfasts in the area as well. I don't know of any place to camp in the area (unless you are a boy or girl scout, they have camps nearby.)
If you enjoy biking, the nearby towpath trail winds along the old canal from Cleveland to Akron, and is a beautiful ride.... |
