Ashton Pond is a lake worth visiting. Ashton Pond is not far at all from Columbus, and if you're here, you could also stop at pretty McGill Pond. This lake is so wonderful. For the duration of the warmest time of the year at Ashton Pond temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Ashton Pond.

| | to stay Days Inn and Suites Reynoldsburg is a wonderful choice, and a pleasant place to camp here at Ashton Pond is Jackson Lake Park. Don't leave Ashton Pond without first going for a hike along the Sassafras Horse Trail, and Blacklick Woods Metro Golf Course is a golf course nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Fran Bar Park is always a magnificent experience, and there's good hiking along the Squawroot Nature Trail.

Pond is about average; the wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most; February on the other hand is the driest. There are some fine whitewater spots on Hocking River; good hiking is available along
the Five Oaks Trail. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motels Reynolds/East Columbus Area is a great place to spend a night or two, and do take a look at Moore Pond, it's a stunning lake.

What happened to the camp grounds at Hoover!!!!This is neededback!!!We had great fun there....We recently discovered Hoover Reservoir. It's a beautiful lake, though much, if not most, is inaccessible due to ''private propery''. It appears there are several new access areas however. One can drive entirely around it in less than 30 minutes. The area around the damn, and the area around the other end (the ''Big Walnut Creek'' flow into the lake is also very nice. It's sorta hard to find a quiet area as it is near Columbus. It's well worth a visit.... |
