Why not camp at Terrace Lakes Campground if you're here at Als Lake, and Little Beaver Creek has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. From a rain point of view Als Lake is a relatively normal site; of all the months in a year July       is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Youngstown (N. Lima/Boardman) is a brilliant place to get some rest, and lots of folks from East Liverpool-Salem come here. In case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little Beaver Creek, and don't leave Als Lake without first going for a hike along the Dogwood Trail. Lakes? Sure, Big Rock Lake is nearby, and                  delightful hiking is available along the Vondergreen Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Copeland Hills Golf Course is a tremendous golf course nearby. That right there is plenty already, but it goes on; Als Lake has it all. There are other sites here than Als Lake, for example Lake Copeland; camping is available at Cherry Valley Camp Ground. For the duration of the days of summer highs here at Als Lake get into the 80's; the overnight is quite chillier of course, mostly in the 50's.
