This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Oswegatchie River, and if you came for an overnight stay Backbay Campground is a good place to camp. Camping is available at Kring Point State Park; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Watertown-Fort Drum. What a location this is for outdoors people. Black Creek                  is a brilliant whitewater spot close to Lake of the Woods; do pop by Red Lake, it's a delightful lake. High temperatures at Lake of the Woods during the summertime are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's.
