Stay the night at Rainbows End; get yourself into a kayak and hit West Stony Creek. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! The Adirondack Mountains is great! Some nearby water includes Abner Brook. Lakes? Sure, Chase Lake is in close proximity. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Woods Lake. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's, and overnight       lows through the wintertime for Woods Lake tend to be in the 0's. Woods Lake frequently gets a lot of precipitation; November is when you get the most rain here, and February is when it's the driest. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Johnstown/Gloversville is a good spot to spend a night or two, and if you like swamps you're in luck, Johnson Swamp is right nearby. The Adirondack Mountains scenery is always beautiful. There's great hiking along the                  Oregon Trail, and a great view of charming Little Cathead Mountain is available. Now, you may think that's a lot but there's even more fun things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Not far from Woods Lake, you'll discover Grant Lake which is a picturesque lake; if you come at the right time of year, Holmes Lake Outlet offers some brilliant whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Holiday Inn JOHNSTOWN-GLOVERSVILLE; Ranch Side Park is a delightful campground nearby. You definitely must go for Woods Lake.
