Near Woodlands Lake you stumble on the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and if you need a location to stay Springhill Suites By Marriott Tarrytown/Greenburgh is a pleasant choice. All the water falling down from the sky makes Woodlands Lake a wet location;                  the month with most of the rain is July; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a brilliant hiking trail close to Woodlands Lake called the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. For the duration of the days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Woodlands Lake while nighttime lows are usually in the 60's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Woodlands Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
