Winnisook Lake is a beautiful lake in the Catskill Mountains. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Hunter Mountain is close to Winnisook Lake. Camping at Winnisook Lake is good fun, Uncle Pete's Recreation Park is a good local campground, and don't leave Winnisook Lake without first checking out Giant Ledge. This lake is so wonderful. Near Winnisook Lake you locate splendid places like Hanging       Birds Nest; Winnisook Lake is a fine location to camp, Romer Mountain Park is a fine location. A magnificent close by hotel is Lexington at Hudson Valley Resort; pleasant hiking is available along the Kanape Jeep Trail. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Catskill Mountains. Go for a hike on the Vernooy Falls Trail, and you can run the rapids of Esopus Creek. High temperatures at Winnisook Lake throughout the summer                  are in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 20's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Winnisook Lake fall into the 0's.
