Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHESTER-MONROE-GOSHEN is a great spot to get some rest, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Mt. Peter. You could also pop by Little Dam Lake since you're here at Lake Winape; it's close by, and the skiing at Sterling Forest is brilliant. The amount of precipitation that falls at Lake Winape is close to the national average; during       May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Don't leave Lake Winape without first going for a hike along the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Ramapo River. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Buchanan Mountain can be made out from Lake Winape, and nothing beats kicking back at New Sebago Beach. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors,                  just come on down to Lake Winape. There's fine hiking along the Kakiat Trail; Robert Moses is a perfect local campground. The Pine Meadow Trail offers hiking at its best, and golf can be played at The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge. Lake Winape is not the only location nearby, Mombasha Lake is a nearby lake, and Camp wabenaki is a delightful campground nearby. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Lake Winape. There's whitewater on Moodna Creek for all you thrill seekers. If you're looking for a beach right next door to Lake Winape, we recommend Old Sebago Beach; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Suffern, Ny. For the duration of the warm months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Lake Winape, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
