Camping at Sylvan Lake Beach Park is always a good experience, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Ten Mile River. There are perfect sites to discover along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and if you're stopping by from Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, you won't be the only one. Very       beautiful scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Thunder Ridge; if you need a place to stay Smalley Inn is a pleasant choice. Lakes? Sure, Ballard Pond is in the neighborhood, and going for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail is always a great adventure. A brilliant vista of scenic Depot Hill is available from Willow Lake, and Willow Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Clarence Fahnestock State Park is a great local campground.                  This lake is so wonderful. Take a look at nearby Bear Swamp, and dry warm beds await you at Pine Grove Motel. This lake is so wonderful. Tenmile has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by; if you're here and you like golf, you can visit Dutcher Golf Course. The warmest time of the year at Willow Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are typically in the 30's while Willow Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
