Why not camp at Medcalf Acres Campsite since you're here at Wilcox Pond; Beaver Meadow Hill is pretty and can be made out from here. Golf can be played at Town of Schroon Golf Club, and let's not forget Alder Creek which is a stream that you may bump into during your stay. If you need a place to stay Lake George/Warrensburg Super 8 Motel is a great choice.       Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. A pleasant place for whitewater paddling close to Wilcox Pond is Schroon River, and do take a hike on the Long Swing Trail. Nearby lakes? Sure, Spectacle Pond is next to Wilcox Pond, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on The Branch. High temperatures at Wilcox Pond during the summer months are                  in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Wilcox Pond temperatures sink to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at The Sagamore, and hiking along the Pharoah Mountain Trail is pleasant fun. Wilcox Pond gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. And if that's not enough there's a load more amusing stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. You could also visit Gull Pond while you're here at Wilcox Pond; it's nearby; if you like swamps you're in luck, Harrison Marsh is right nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Wilcox Pond is right by the Spectacle Pond Trail, and camping is available at Echo Lake Southwoods.
