Whitney Lake ordinarily gets a good deal of rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is typically the driest month. The views at Gateway National Recreation Area will blow your mind, and a nice spot to camp here at Whitney Lake is American Trails West. Just can't get enough of Whitney       Lake. The Andrew Hotel is a nice place to get some rest, and playing golf is lots of fun at Plandome Country Club. After a long day outdoors Inn at Great Neck is a magnificent spot to spend a night or two, and Leeds Pond is a great lake close by. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Whitney Lake. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the                  30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Whitney Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A good beach right next door to Whitney Lake is Tappen Beach, and why not camp at Birchmont A Pierce Camp while you're here at Whitney Lake. Lakes?
