Going for a hike on the Sucker Brook Trail is always a brilliant adventure; if you come at the right time of year, Indian River offers some pleasant whitewater. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Sampson Lake, and nearby you discover Pillsbury Bay. And if that's not enough there's a lot more fun stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. There's so much to do       here at Whitney Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Tioga Point State Campground is a great place for that, and the peak of Cobble Hill can be spotted from Whitney Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitney Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Browns Tract Pond State Campground is a great local campground, and there are wonderful places to explore along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitney Lake is                  a wet site that gets a good deal of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more fun things to do here in the Adirondack Mountains. Everybody nearby loves skiing at McCauley Mountain, and float down the rapids of Moose River - South Branch in a kayak. This is a great area for people who like lakes. Puddle Hole is a lake close by, and don't leave Whitney Lake without first going for a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. At Whitney Lake through the days of summer highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's.
