There are other spots here than Whitaker Lake, for example Panther Pond; going for a hike along the Hamilton Mountain Fire Tower Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Adirondack Mountains. Some of the water close by flows, like Cannon Brook, and hiking along the       Sucker Brook Trail is great fun. Silver Hill is a peak you can observe from Whitaker Lake, and not far from Whitaker Lake you'll stumble on Dug Mountain Ponds which is a lovely lake. This lake is so wonderful. Whitaker Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Ranch Side Park is a perfect local campground, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Northville Lake Placid Trail. All the outdoors cool things in the Adirondack Mountains                  will keep you coming back again and again. A spree to Moffit Beach right next door to Whitaker Lake is always a tremendous idea, and Indian Clearing is a great site here at Whitaker Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A fine location to camp here at Whitaker Lake is Rainbows End, and there's whitewater on Sacandaga River - Middle Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in the neighborhood of Whitaker Lake. Whitaker Lake is a site with many visitors from Gloversville; you can run the rapids of Sacandaga River. This lake is located in the wonderful Adirondack Mountains. Throughout the summer months highs here at Whitaker Lake get into the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
