Get dripping wet paddling on Moose River - South Branch, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Salmon Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A round of golf at nearby Thendara Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Drift down the rapids of Black River in a kayak; camping at Nicks Lake Campgrounds is always a tremendous experience.       High temperatures at Wheeler Pond all through the summertime are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Wheeler Pond. Lakes are tremendous; Little Safford Lake is a lake that's near Wheeler Pond, and Beaver Brook is close to Wheeler Pond and is always a pleasure to pop by. Now, you may feel that's a heap but there's even more fun things to                  do here in the Adirondack Mountains. On a glorious day at Wheeler Pond you can take a hike along the Twin Lakes Trail, and if you came to camp OLD Forge Camping Resort is a great place to do that. Wheeler Pond is one of the lakes here in the Adirondack Mountains. Going for a hike along the Norridge Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood, and obviously, this is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Round Pond is a lake close at hand. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Wheeler Pond. You'll meet a lot of people from Utica-Rome here, and picturesque scenery and delightful skiing is what you obtain at McCauley Mountain.
