Through the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Watervliet Reservoir, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Watervliet Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of people from Albany-Schenectady-Troy come to Watervliet Reservoir. Basic Creek has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and the       best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Hickory Ski Center. Head up to Windham Mountain and strap some skis to your feet, and Stardust Motor Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Normans Kill River, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Whispering Pines Golf Course.
