There are great sites to look at along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail; Lake Walton is not the only spot close by, Penneywater Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Inn at the Falls. Looking for something near Lake Walton? Hillside Lake is nearby; what would winter be without some skiing at Thunder Ridge. Lake Walton is good enough to spend more than a day at, Sylvan Lake       Beach Park is a good local campground, and Moodna Creek has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Wappinger Creek, and don't forget to take a brilliant little trip to Whortlekill Creek. If you need a place to stay Le Chambord is a perfect choice; if you're a golfer then a fine nearby course is Dogwood Knoll Golf Course. So many amusing                  things to do at Lake Walton, so little time. Don't leave Lake Walton without first going for a hike along the Stillwell Lake Trail, and camping at Clarence Fahnestock State Park is always a glorious experience.
