If you are in Ulster county it's always a good idea to stop by Vly Pond. Just can't get enough of Vly Pond. This lake is located in the wonderful Catskill Mountains. The skiing at Ski Plattekill is pleasant, and there's whitewater on Neversink River - West Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers.
For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Vly Pond get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. For the period of the winter

you're here you can take a hike along the Vernooy Falls Trail. You absolutely must love the Catskill Mountains. Black Brook is a lovely stream that is worth taking a look at, and you can stay the night at Covered Bridge Campsite.
These mountains rock, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Catskill Mountains. On a brilliant day at Vly Pond you can take a hike along the Kanape Jeep Trail, and a day on the slopes of Belleayre is just what you need.
Vly Pond usually gets much rainfall; most of the rain falls through May, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. A range like the Beaver Kill Range here at Vly Pond is always pretty, and you can have
a nice hiking adventure along the Seager West Branch Trail. But wait, there's more to do close to Vly Pond. There are other sites here than Vly Pond, for example Round Pond; Vly Pond is a splendid spot to visit for more than one day, Willowemoc Campgrounds is a splendid spot to camp nearby.
