If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Vly Pond. Go for a hike on the Vernooy Falls Trail, and don't leave Vly Pond without first going for a hike along the Kanape Jeep Trail. Vly Pond is located in the Catskill Mountains. Just can't get enough of the Catskill Mountains. No need to travel far to stop by interesting stuff like Bullet Hole, and there are pleasant places to explore along the Seager West Branch Trail.

| | fun stuff to do at Vly Pond, so little time. Through the summertime months highs here at Vly Pond reach the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows at Vly Pond during the wintertime regularly drop into the 10's. Just can't get enough of Vly Pond. And that's not everything you can do here in the Catskill Mountains. A quick journey to Black Brook next to Vly Pond is a splendid idea,
and get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Neversink River - West Branch. If you came for an overnight stay Willowemoc Campgrounds is a great site to camp, and the skiing at Belleayre is brilliant. This lake is so wonderful.
A brilliant nearby hotel is Elizabeth House & Motel, and Balsam Lake Mountain is scenic and can be distinguished from here.
The Beaver Kill Range towers over Vly Pond, and Dog Hollow is also a tremendous place to explore. Vly
Pond is a wet spot that gets lots of rain; all through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Linden Hill Cottages is a good site to spend a night or two; Ski Plattekill is a great local ski area.
