If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Utica Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Utica is a great place to spend a night or two, and there is a delightful hiking trail close by called the Stone Dam Trail. The high level of rain makes Utica Reservoir a reasonably wet place; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. The Party Trail is a wonderful hiking trail right next door to Utica Reservoir, and in the event that you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ninemile Creek. peak of Marcy Hill can be made out from Utica Reservoir, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Forty Mountain Trail.
At Utica Reservoir during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight
hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows in the 10's for Utica Reservoir. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a great time here at Utica Reservoir. A lake close by is Graffenburg
Reservoir, and Super 8 Motel - Utica is a wonderful location to get some rest. Why not camp at Elmtree Campsites since you're here at Utica Reservoir, and a trip to Fort Stanwix National Monument is recommended.
Cincinnati Creek
has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and this is a popular site for people from Utica-Rome. Don't forget to take a good little trip to Reall Creek, and camping is available at Elmtree Estates.
