I love hiking back to this pond! It is absolutely beautiful! The trail was a little muddy from atv's, but the trek is worth it. the loons were incredible to watch, and once i saw the arora borealis there too!...

Forty Mountain Trail
14 miles away
Since 2001, it has become a bushwhack and can be close to impossible in the spring and summer to find the blazes that indicate the trail. Wet seasons can make the slopes tretcherous, and the trail dissapears at the base of the mountain. One must plot a compass course or use a GPS. The summit offers limited views of the Black River area of the southwestern Adirondacks. Watch for black bears, as they are numerous in this region....

McCauley Mountain

A mountain nestled in the central Adirondacks just outside Old Forge, New York, McCauley Mountain's 633 foot vertical drop and twenty-one trails make it so you never have to look hard to find a challenge.
