Big Duck Pond is a nearby lake that you could go to, and Econo Lodge Malone is a tremendous place to get some rest. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Malone is a good site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Deer River, and during your tour here you'll meet some folks from Malone for sure. Twin Ponds gets a common amount       of annual rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. So many cool things close to Twin Ponds, truly impressive. Mount Pisgah is a great local ski area, and you can stay the night at Legton. There's whitewater on Meacham Lake Outlet for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Limekiln Mountain is a peak you can catch a sight of from Twin Ponds. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Twin Ponds, and throughout                  summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Twin Ponds dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
