If you like lakes and you're in this part of New York you can check out Trout Pond. Throughout the summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Trout Pond, and the overnight is rather cooler of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Trout Pond dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. All year is a splendid time in the Adirondack Mountains if you adore the outdoors. Stay the night at OLD Forge Camping

| | Resort; hiking along the Big Deer Pond Trail is pleasant fun. The high level of rainfall makes Trout Pond a relatively wet spot; August is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Trout Pond has to offer, you can camp at Nicks Lake Campgrounds. flows, like Gun Harbor Brook. Be careful coming to Trout Pond, you might not ever want to go back home again. Take a hike on the Norridge Trail, and lots of people from Ogdensburg-Massena come here. This lake is one of the great
places here in the Adirondack Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at McCauley Mountain; you are near Gun Harbor if you're here. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Oswegatchie River
- East Branch, and not far from Trout Pond you'll stumble on Loon Lake which is a delightful lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things in the Adirondack Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Salmon Lake Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Beaver River.
