Camping is available at Beaver Pond; if the weather is pleasant, you can go for a hike along the Suffern-Bear Mountain Trail. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Mt. Peter is near Tomkins Lake; Lake Boyce is a nearby lake that you could stop by. Tomkins Lake typically gets a large amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Through the warm months at Tomkins Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's.

This lake is so wonderful. Have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Stillwell Lake Trail, and getting to Doodletown Brook from Tomkins Lake is uncomplicated. A lake close by is Ambreys Pond, and if you don't mind getting covered
with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Moodna Creek. Popolopen Creek is a glorious whitewater spot near Tomkins Lake, and don’t forget to stop by Ring Meadow if you're here at Tomkins Lake. The snow is pleasant at Sterling Forest, and why not camp at Sebago Cabins Harriman while you're here at Tomkins Lake.
