Thompson's Lake State Park       is a nice local campground, and you're sure to run into some great folks from Albany-Schenectady-Troy here. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Woodstock Lake Assn-office since you're here at Thompsons Lake, and if you need a site to stay Stardust Motor Inn is a tremendous choice. The amount of rain that falls at Thompsons Lake is close to the national average; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the                  driest. A good place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Thompsons Lake is Ten Mile Creek; the snow is nice at Hickory Ski Center. This lake is one of the great places here in the Catskill Mountains. For the duration of the summer here at Thompsons Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Thompsons Lake dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Man, is there a lot of amusing stuff to do close to Thompsons Lake. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Orchard Creek Golf Club is nearby, and you can run the rapids of Basic Creek. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Catskill Mountains.
